What you don't see are all the emergency vehicles and foam off to the left of this view. I was kind of wondering about the angle...like where or what the photo was shot from. Pretty colors though, especially compared to Bangor in February.
It is St. Maarten Princess Juliana Int'l (now to be called Princess Amalia Int'l). If you look closely you would see the (displaced) runway starting just after the fence on the left!
I think there is a sign at the beach stating it is advised not to be at the beach between ... and ... ( <-- fill in the flight schedule here).
This is probably necessary for insurance claims.
