I don't think that we need any prop disk at all for cruise RPMs -- the propeller really does become invisible. We should probably introduce a translucent prop disk only at lower RPMs, say, 1500 and below -- it's usually when I cut power for approach that I can (sort of) see the prop again.

You might want to consider the blend function to animate the prop from semi-translucent to completely-translucent. At this point I don't have the object deselected when completely translucent but I will look into that this morning.
