Actually, keeping the word "indicated" might not be a bad idea anyway. I use it on many of the instruments (especially the pitot/static/vacuum ones) to emphasise that the value may bear little obvious relation to the plane's actual altitude/airspeed/heading etc.


While they're more accurate *most* of the time, I've seen some pretty bizarre errors on the three handheld (non-IFR-certified) GPS's I own, far worse than I've ever seen on my traditional nav instruments. Some day, we'll want to model those.
