Hi,

After some debate on the developers mailing list we now have the possibility to adjust the _current_ configuration file to match the joystick bindings for windows. So there's no need anymore to copy the file and adjust it, but instead it is possible to change the axis numbering as described in the following example:

If the axis description was as follows:

<axis n="2">
  <desc>Rudder</desc>
  <binding>
   <command>property-scale</command>
   <property>/controls/flight/rudder</property>
   <factor type="double">1.0</factor>
  </binding>
</axis>

You could easily change it to the following to get it working for Windows also:

<axis>
  <desc>Rudder</desc>
  <number>
   <unix>2</unix>
   <windows>3</windows>
  </number>
  <binding>
   <command>property-scale</command>
   <property>/controls/flight/rudder</property>
   <factor type="double">1.0</factor>
  </binding>
 </axis>

Not the removal of 'n="2"' in the axis tag and the addition of:

<number>
 <unix>2</unix>
 <windows>3</windows>
</number>

Where the value for <unix> is the value that was previously assigned to n="2".

Any updated configurations are still welcome.

Erik
