Even though the structural changes can be easily tracked down by the
script already, it might help if the other things would be mentioned
somewhere.

Updated or new files itself would not currently be a problem, rather
changes in file formats (possibly caused by using compression on RGB
files) would be more problematical.

You could check the timestamps of those files. They shouldn't change unless something has changed.
