Hi Dave and Erik,
this just as a feedback to your replies to demonstrate that your help was not
for trash and I really tried to solve the problem:

/Did you do a "cvs -z3 up -Pd"?
/The -Pd flags cause cvs to add new directories and remove empty /directories from the tree. The above message indicates to me there is a /directory missing
/Erik

I use the Win32 CVS-GUI program with the command line
cvs -d :pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/var/cvs/SimGear-0.3 co source
as recommended by the FlightGear CVS page.
I compared the stuff (folders, files) on my HD with that in the SimGear CVS
library and found no
diffence. Despite that I deleted all and built a complete new CVS on my HD
(obviously with all subfolders and files).
Same error messages as described after ./autogen.sh, ./configure and make. :-(

/Try removing autom4te.cache and re-running autogen.sh. Not sure if this is
your problem, but it /often sorts out autotools problems for me.
/
/Cheers - Dave

Tried it, same result as already described by me. :-(

Erik and Dave, thank you very much for your prompt and gentle help.
I give up *for now* as a have no valid knowledge of all this complicated stuff
and it is like a blind man searching for something. Might be in 2006 I am
informed enough to try it again.
Going now to other FlightGear stuff where I can help and hope for a new binary
Win32 FlightGear release within the next months!
Thank you once again for your help and time!

Regards
Georg EDDW
