A FMC is a heck of a lot of work in itself including a tables of nav aids and other beacons contained within. Also Commerical flights the pilots don't program the FMC but groundcrew do. So it would be impractical to have a plane sitting at the end of 27R at SFO while a novice pilot is trying to work out the FMC, it would be nice if a flight plan could be loaded in (perhaps a text file that is read in). I'd imagine it would be heck of a lot of nasal code. Best of luck with that though.
