I'm trying this on Fedora Core and got this to work as my contents of
~/.festivalrc
(set! server_access_list '("localhost.localdomain"))
So you shouldn't need to open up access to the entire internet.
However, now I discover my audio chip can't share between multiple
apps. Have to dig out a sound blaster card from someplace I guess...
