Yes, the real AC has an Apollo SL60 GPS Receiver and VHF Communications Transceiver. The GPS is enroute qualified but not approach qualified. Yes, I used many photos of the AC and panel to get the model as close a possible to reality. I used the radios from Aircraft/Instruments to do the radio stack to get it in the "air" asap.

Ooohh, I was hoping you'd say it had an approach-qualified GX50 or 60, which
would be great fun to do, but having looked into the SL unit it seems to have
the great redeeming feature of being a lot simpler to model, with no moving map
and a much more limited font and symbol set used. Are you planning to model
this unit, and if not, would you mind sending me a closeup photo of it if you
have one so I can take a crack at it...
Actually, there is a small moving map. The SL60 is also a comm radio. I have the manual in pdf form so I could send that to you. I can get the close-up photo also.

My partners and I are considering spending the $15K is would take to really upgrade the radio stack if we do most of the install of a pre-built stack. That is one reason I did not put much effort into the radio stack and used what was already in fgfs.

I have not used the gps in fgfs. Is our database up to doing this well?
