I'm wondering if it's worthwhile to have two versions of the FG
package, one built using freeglut and one using SDL.

    And mind you, just a note with the current FG's configure, it will
still link the final binary against glut even if you configure it with
--enable-sdl. And secondly, some of the tools/utils (gl-info for
example) are written using glut and glut only. Maybe these should be
fixed too.
