An aircraft's local instrumentation config file is just a replacement that overrides Generic/generic-instruments.xml, so in principle, if it does not work with the local config file it wouldn't work any better in generic.instruments.xml. When I created the generic-instruments.xml file I included whatever existed hardcoded at the time. Since then new instruments have been added.
