I had not flown for real since the prop disc discussion. This afternoon
3:30 pm to about 5:00 pm, I was out shooting practice instrument
approaches with one of my partners in N7764P. When I was saftety pilot,
I paid attention to when I could see the prop disc and when I could not
see it. Flying west (into the sun), it disappeared at about 1600 rpm.
Flying east (sun behind us) it was always visible but nor dark even at
2400 rpm. So the way it is implemented in the fgfs pa24 with the
visibility decreasing smoothly with rpm until it disappears completely
at about 2000 rpm is a good compromise. By the way, when I was under
the hood it was not visible at any rpm. ;-)
