in real life: yes, this happened about 2 years ago.  Google
maps apparently has no recent update though, as it still shows
it being an airfield.

you are correct: it is meigs, even though it doesnt exist in
real life.  the reason it is "elevated" is because the water
and coastline are not correct.  the airfiled is at the correct
coordinates AND elevation.
