I stopped using Cygwin for FG when OpenAL-cvs stopped compiling under Cygwin. I changed to MSVC8 - and that was quite an adventure. I wouldn't like to do all that again. Still, now it's all done it works well, and provides a good editor and quick compiler. When OpenAL gets its act together I'll probably go back.
