The generic/standard attitude indicator is vacuum driven, and the vacuum system is driven by engine rpm. If you are flying a jet, that might be the problem. I forget exactly, but I think you can specify the source of your "rpm" that drives your vacuum system, or you could rewrite the instrument to work off of different input properties.
