That's irrelevant. We aren't using any of the system fonts, but only
our own texture fonts ($FG_ROOT/Fonts/*.txf) and pixmap fonts that are
compiled in in either fgfs or plib. The former are quick to render,
scalable, but a bit blurry (used on old GUI and HUD). The latter are
crisp but slower and not scalable, and can only be used in the screen
plane, but not be mapped on objects. (They are used on dark GUI, ATC
messages and frame rate display). In the screenshots you see that
texture fonts work, but pixmap fonts don't.
  If she can't update the driver, then she could avoid the alternative,
dark GUI style, and set the message font in $FG_ROOT/gui/styles/default.xml
(fonts/message-display) and frame rate display $FG_ROOT/gui/dialogs/fps.xml
to texture fonts.
