And for cvs that'll be something like % cd fgfs/source/dir % cvs diff -u -N > ../my.patch '-u' for unified diff and '-N' to include new files (in case you added new files - this requires some hacking in the CVS/ subdir of your local work dir to work, though). This is at least what I use for my lighter-than-air patch, and it does work when I test using it. However, I don't know if anyone else has tried my patch.
