You can look at the Canberra or bf109 hood animation. There is a key
binding int the *-set.xml file and a "func" section in the corresponding
nasal file. 

The A-10 has something similar in canopy.nas for the hood animation but
it is more complicated, because the hood closes only while the switch is
pressed.
