I can relate to the cost issue, but that's no excuse for getting lost while
flying in the flight simulator. With emphasis: _plan_ the flight before you
take off. Learn how to navigate. Don't get lost, and then you won't need to
ask the flight simulator where you have flown(?!). That's _your_ job to
know. You're the pilot. (Well, in the l410 you can be a passenger, but
someone has to fly the thing too. ;)
There are several options to get the necessary information for planning the
flight.
* Use the FlightGear Flightplanner:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/fgflightplanner/
(which however doesn't list ILS beacons)
* If you want to use real charts and standard departures/approaches and
can't retrieve any for one area, then fly in areas for which you /can/
get information. (The US is a safe bet here, due to publicity laws. But
it goes for most of the world.)
...What's this btw? (speaking of Cindacta):
http://paginas.terra.com.br/servicos/marcotulio/index_arquivos/Page348.htm
(Came there from www.vatsim.net)
* Make your own charts:
- The MP server map page is an excellent source for locations and
frequencies of navigation beacons (including ILS), airways etc.
- Atlas (apart from the moving map RAM-eater, that package also contain
tools for producing printable maps.)
To get back on the topic: The "emergency localiser" you ask for would be
contacting the ATC, admitting that you are lost and ask for instructions.
(And prepare for an interrogation and investigation after landing.) In
the initial phase of pilot training, the student is restricted to stay
within visible range of the home field.
