You are not alone. I ran into this on Sat. Apparently the head branch is 
broken. Something to do with OSG. I get the identical rendering issues.

Im running with nVidia GeForce 7600 GS graphics card, 256 meg VRAM. 
Those that believe this is a ATI card issue are mistaken.
