Well, OSGeo/Telascience already do suport this effort and I guess this
support might get extended over the time.

Actually, after Ralf already added _significant_ improvement to the
TerraGear tools, I plan to set up some automatic batch-processing for
the FlightGear Scenery - although currently I'm not sure how long it
will take to 'aquire' the necessary recources  ;-)

The idea is to run a monthly (or maybe even weekly) job that rebuilds
all Scenery tiles which are affected by some change in the input data.
Such a change could result from a new or updated airfield as well as
from the correction of a river flow or other changes. Just as an
example, I hope this action to help us working around the increasing
displeasure of users having to wait up to a whole year until they see
their submissions to Robin's airport database showing up in the
FlightGear Scenery.

To my knowledge the intention is to let LinuxTag take place at this
year's location, the "Berlin Expo Center under the Funkturm" for
several years to follow.
