The aim of the scripts in Traffic is to provide a basic (time-table) level of Flight information, from which point on FlightGear takes care of traffic in a (hopefully) intelligent way. Please have a look at http://wiki.flightgear.org/flightgear_wiki/index.php?title=Interactive_Traffic for documentation.
If you are using FlightGear cvs HEAD, sections 10 to 12 are slightly outdated, as I have a drop in system now. > Ive attempted to add an Alaska Airlines daily flight from CYVR to KSFO , > just wondering which is more appropriate to use ... The scripts in AI give you fairly detailed control over the animation side, at the cost of intelligence, whereas the scripts in Traffic don't give you that much control, but allow FlightGear more intelligent control over AI traffic. Or at least that's the plan. The "intelligent" part of the system is still in development. > Ive also noticed, while creating the Alaska Airlines livery , that the > AI aircraft use a 1024x1024 texture.Isn't that a bit much for AI aircraft ? > Innis Cunningham and I have discussed this offlist, and we decided to start using 1024x1024, because it give the aircraft painter a bit of a canvas to work on. It's easy to scale that down using a little script centered around imageMagik, and this is something we had thought about. Notice that I have already created some Alaska airlines at: http://www.xs4all.nl/~dtalsma/flightgear.html Feel free to to use or modify these. Also, if you have working traffic files that you would share, please send them to me, so I can include them on the AI website. > Finally got internet back , sorry if I havent answered anyone in the > last few days ... > Cheers, > Syd > > Cheers, Durk ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
