Hi Paul,
I don't currently have a working PLIB build, so I've been unable to look
into this properly.
However, I've had a look at the model, and fixed what I hope was the
culprit - excessive numbers of vertices in the pod and some animations
that aren't available on PLIB.
There's a tarball of the modified aircraft here:

If you could give it a go and let me know if this solves the problem, I
would be very grateful.
