This is my first post and I come to you with what I think is a great
proposal, First I will introduce myself, I work for a company which provide
training Aid and technological solution for a number of Military and
civilian entities, From time to time we get a contract to integrate some
existing software with custom made hardware, at this point I received an
assignment to develop a software to help new student pilot understand ground
school not only from books but by actually practicing what they are learning
right away, and instead of reinventing the wheel we poked around for the
best multi platform that is optimum to achieving our goal. My personal
selection was Flightgear due to the open-source and possibility of
customization is endless, besides getting a chance to share the development
which will be as an outcome of this project with users around the world.
We are looking for Flightgear developers that can be contracted to do this
custom work and it is all within the capabilities of the existing software
to my understanding.
The Idea:
What I want to get is a classroom setting where the system is divided into
instructor and student Pilots, to start I want to be able to teach the
student pilots about aircraft systems, and system failure and its effect on
the aircraft. We already developed a CBT that has Audio Video and 3D
Animation, what I want is to give the student the chance to start an
airplane and the teacher has the option of assigning different system
failures to different students who could be flying together or individually.
And the teacher has the option on follow up on the student's response.
We have more projects in the future and we can discuses it when the time
comes and this add-on behind us.
I hope to generate enough interest from the developers to start cracking
this first ground school add-on that is initiated by me.
