Hi Gijs, I think the answer is in your quote. You can use Google-earth images for a "personnal" use only. Flightgear is a publicly available software, that is really NOT the definition of "personnal" .
It will cost nothing to ask to Google, but I bet 2 cents on their answer: "no way!" Cheers, DavidB21.
