I am sorry to return to this topic, but I seem to find that the ATIS transmisssion string appears to be set up before the environment is established. You may notice that the atis report defaults to those set in environment.cxx (eg pressure=29.92, temp=15, etc)
I see that if I switch my com radio away from the ATIS frequency and back again, ATIS will be called again and report the proper metar settings (except for visibility). Perhaps one of you C++ gurus could suggest a fix for this problem? BTW, (OT), does anyone know how I can set up the standby frequencies on my radios in command line/.fgfsrc? I would like to be able to toggle between ATIS transmissions at my departure and detination airports. I cannot seem to be able to hear COM2 radio in my c172. I know that I should have asked this question on the user forum, but it seems related.
