Right now, I would strongly advise against ATI cards - their OpenGl
implementation is dodgy, to say the least. Better in their Windows driver
than in Linux.

I recently upgraded from a nVidia fx6200/256 to a nVidia 7600gs, and got no
improvement in performance using fg/osg - 25 - 30 at KSFO with everything on
except MP, 18-20 with. Turns out that the cpu is the limitation here - P4
2.8Ghz 1.5gb RAM. So I would say that P4 2.8Ghz 1.5gb + fx6200 was probably
the bottom line for fg/osg. On the other hand fg/plib flies along here, but
I still wouldn't recommend anything less capable than fx6200.

I hope that the osg implementation will improve so that in the future we may
get frame rates comparable with plib.
