This is a bit surprising, as the repository _without_ checkout should
have approximately this size:
hypersphere: 15:58:01 ~> du -hs git/fgdata/ GIT/fgdata/
1,1G git/fgdata/
2,7G GIT/fgdata/
The bigger one contains the repo itself _plus_ the checkout,
