Yes, the model could have some security, or the jettison  process in case of 
emergency.
May be i must include that part of feature like i did recently, with the F-8E:
=> Prohibiting to open the canopy when we are in air, only allowed with 
jettison (the canopy is then ejected)
=>Lost of canopy if it remain open during take off.

With the Blackbird at 80000 ft,  ejection remain critical.
Though, their were some attend for parachuting  at such altitude
