Hi Rob, I encountered the same problem with METAR giving no wind data, which made the wind speed appear as a weird NaN value where a number was expected. Wind may be used as a sound factor on some aircrafts (the more wind, the more wind sound). This factor could rather be airspeed. Anyway, In my case Open_Al died first when doing math with NaNs, then Nasal got trouble and finally the CullVisitor went haywire... If the UFO don't trigger the bug this should mean that the bug is "aircraft animation or sound + no_wind_METAR" related. Jester patched CVS on 20081228, this patch fixed the bug in my case. May be should you wait Fred's next build and see if you can reproduce it (depends on weather though).
