Hi David,
Depending on what you are trying to accomplish, FlightGear also has built in
functionality to drive multiple displays and multiple windows from a single
instance (as of v1.9.0). Look for the docs-mini/README.multiscreen for
instructions and examples.
Also you can beat this up with hardware and use something like the matrox
triple-head-to-go, but even with that, you really want to use FlightGear's
capabilities to setup multiple cameras, 1 for each monitor, so you can
configure the right separation between the screens to account for the
display borders.
