I'd go further, and say "yes", but IANAL either. Providing the software to a third party, whether a demo or not, and whether money has changed hands or not, is still distributing the software, so you must include the source. I'm sure you've already thought about it, but just in case this isn't a completely hypothetical situation, you could just give them access to a computer with the (binary) software running on it. The computer is yours, so you are not distributing anything.
