Just hop into any aircraft you like - well, probably not at jet but preferrably a glider and go to an airfield next to a ridge. KHAF will work. For KHAF set up some westerly winds. 15 knots is a good start. Fly your glider close to a west facing ridge and check the property /environment/ridge-lift-fps and observe the vertical speed indicator. You will definitely climb there. But be aware, you will experience some serious downwash on the opposite side of the ridge. The feature is on by default.
