Hi,

If you are using OpenAL-soft you can configure it to output to a file 
rather than pulseaudio. If you are not at all interested in the sound 
/dev/null might be a useful file.

Put this in your .alsoftrc:

drivers = wave
[wave]
file = /dev/null
