My understanding of that system is that they actually only have a single runway in their database, so it is up to the instructor to configure and place the runway correctly for the desired training scenario. (And if you wanted to take off from one airport and land at another, or divert to your backup airport, the instructor would have to physically reconfigure the runway and move it while the student is in flight.) FlightGear takes a different approach. We include a large database of airports with world wide coverage. Each airport already has its correct real world approach lighting configuration (at least as defined in the database when the scenery is generated.) So the recommended procedure in FlightGear is to simply pick an airport that has the desired approach lighting features you wish to demonstrate and fly your approaches into it.
