If taken from Instruments-3d or not, doesn't matter much. The c172p and the instruments-3d are both part of the base package. Beside that the model shows how to include other instruments from oter aircrafts or folders. A lot of aircafts make use of the Instruments-3d as the included instruments are used by many different aircrafts in RL and that's why we have it. So we can keep the specific-aircraft-package small. The only thing which does matter more is that a lot of the instruments still use .rgb-files. As Stuart already stated in the forum a lot of changes have been made so you should better update to the latest GIT-status.
