Arrrrgh. There's a dreadful pre-property lookup > table of 'function pointers that return a double' buried in cockpit.cxx - > once v1 HUD is gone, that can all die) > > The catch is, aircraft that use a custom, version1 HUD, need to be > adapted. The good thing is, it's a small list: > > === > > AN-225, BAC-TSR2, B-52F, SU-37, TU-114, YF-23 > - appears to be a copy of the default HUD, but needs to be audited > Rather off - topic, but a "heads up" all the same. Re the TSR2, which figured early on in my working life. I am working on an updated version with a Datcom based Jsbsim FDM , 3D cockpits and as many of the original aircraft systems as possible. At present the FDM and cockpits populated with instruments stolen from other FS aircraft are working. The TSR2 HUD had rather different symbology to that in the current FS simulation - it was developed from this http://www.flightglobal.com/pdfarchive/view/1960/1960%20-%203093.html - and is in my to-do list. AFAIK the existing FS TSR2 HUD is there to make up for the lack of cockpit instruments and a generic display would be just as good for this purpose.
