Thanks Thorsten for the link, and re-links... Since meeting with two of the IVAO Windows dev.team at FSWeekend2010 in Nov, I have been wanting to raise this topic again...
I subsequently joined IVAO, and am presently forced to use my MSFS 2002, but would love that to be FG 2.2 instead. I do not have X-Plane. I will again work through the above links, but so far Curt's suggestion to use a (local) fg mp server, or the like, seemed the best approach... needing no, or little change to FG core... Then the only component to be developed would be a module to log you into the IVAO network, file your flight plan, etc... and was assured this would be relatively 'easy' using an IVAO coms library... But will re-read and try some more steps... in windows for the moment, but will keep cross platform fully in mind... And Jack, look forward to a report on your trials, or from any others pursuing this 'connection'... Of course, any additional comments, pointers would be appreciated... Regards, Geoff.
