Folks,

Is there a general guideline or policy that would cover non standard
instrument panels for sim applications?

I recently modified the distro 777-300 model to suit my sim hardware, to do
that I make a special panel layout to fit one camera view, Its one of 2
different views on a dual screen pc.

I found the easiest way was to delete the pedestal and pilots seat and
position the instruments I want (from that same 3d model in this case)
directly under the pilot viewpoint origin on the floor and turn the camera
down 90 degrees.

The advantage here is no other view is to effected by whats on the cockpit
floor under the pilots backside. and one model suits all views and machines
in the sim. (there no other view that picks up the missing bits in the
original panel in this instance)

I just like to ask for thoughts on this, maybe its come up before ? I know
not so many go this route, but thought it could be a generic approach for
those few who do.
