Short explanation: you need a private clone of fgmeta:
http://www.gitorious.org/fg/fgmeta
=> "Clone repository"

Then "git pull" your private clone to your local machine, update your
local repository and "git push" the changes back to your gitorious
clone.
Once your private clone on gitorious.org is updated, you can use the
"Request merge" button there.

If that's the only file you're working on using git, it may not be worth
to set this all up. Otherwise it'll be worth looking at the git manual -
or some git-related in our archives.
