Hi Bruce, I noticed yesterday, while building latest git, that configure wrote something like: fg_panel=no. I didn't noticed this before (which doesn't mean much, but can be a clue) and I didn't change my configure settings since a while. So this may be a recent change in the default configure parameters and may be related to your problem.
