Hi all I announced a new beta release for testing in the forum today. This OSX testing version comes with built-in OSG 3.0.1 and a preview of current sg/fg/fgdata branch "release/2.4.0". Windows and Debian/other version will follow soon (meantime you can pull master tag 2.4.0b4 and build FGx yourself).
FGx branch master: https://gitorious.org/fgx/fgx/commits/master Tracker: http://code.google.com/p/fgx/ Recent forum post for OSX: http://www.flightgear.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=13011 How to compile FGx for Debian: http://code.google.com/p/fgx/wiki/SourceCode Many thanks goes to main contributors Pete Morgan and Geoff McLane. They helped to improve FGx, spending "weeks of work" for adding a lot of new features, making FGx cross platform, getting better code, finding and fixing issues here and there ... Some of this new FGx features: * New map tool for starting position, also by doubleclick on the map * Wizard: Set paths with a wizard to your custom installation of FlightGear * Expert Options for additional command and environment arguments or for setting a specific runtime directory, advanced command preview, version support * View metar of choosen airport * Settings: Save and load profiles * Telnet support: browse current property tree of FlightGear * Log: huge new log capabilities to log everything you need, view logs separately in a FGx window * Debugging mode: New additional window to reflect processes, arguments and parameters of the launcher * Zlib support: supporting compression/decompression now to access airport/navigation data files etc. * New GUI design We still need more contributors and everyone here is invited to contribute to this small project. Yes, it is fun ! We also need people to help to improve user and developer documentation. Thanks & Cheers, Yves ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ BlackBerry® DevCon Americas, Oct. 18-20, San Francisco, CA The must-attend event for mobile developers.
