I've sorted out where things go wrong (last update in git, which basically disables aimodel sounds again). But I have to go and will not be back until tomorrow morning so as far as I can tell the sound is in a working state again.
If someone feels brave, please go ahead and take a look if you can find the exact problem otherwise I need to find some time again.
