Between 2.5.0 and 2.4.0 is already a difference in look, especially in lighting. And comparing 2.4.0 with 1.9.1 is- well- comparing apples and oranges. 1.9.1 was using plib, 2.4.0 is using OSG and has the shader effect system. Skydome has massiv changed and so the lighting. FGFS reached critical mass and the developement process is quite stunning for an OpenSource project.
