I've only looked at your patch rather superficially, but got the impression was that it essentially contained commenting out unused variables and such. Therefore, if push comes to shove, I could probably transpose your changes by hand if the patch wouldn't apply cleanly, but I'd rather avoid that. If you (Chris) could send me a single diff file, I'll try to apply it.
