I found a way to avoid the black window. So I can tell that Rembrandt works perfectly on a HD7750 windowed or fullscreen at 1600x1200. With vegetation set to 2.0 and random buildings at 1.0, I get 20 fps on the c172p. System crash should be a local hardware problem.
