Clearly, as has been widely suggested, the inclusion of the radar stanza in the instrumentation file(s) does indeed mask this infuriating problem. It may be time to take this discussion off-list? I have no idea as to how to even _start_ to debug this problem, but I have the time, the resources, the will, and maybe even the skill to have a go. What I lack is the knowledge.
