It automatically updates every week or so (or whatever the user's update settings are), and there's not much manual intervention required.
The downsides are that this is for Ubuntu only (and maybe alternate Ubuntu distros (Kubuntu, Xubuntu, etc.)), changes require sudo privileges, and some builds may not work correctly.
