Good to hear, maybe just a windows xp issue?

I tested several other aircraft especially from the base package (c172p,
b105...).
And of course I also deleted the files from $FG_HOME.

I have manners

Please note the "smiley". ;-) ;-)

Do you have any nvdata.cache or navdata _2_11.cache files in
...../AppData/Roaming/flightgear.org ?

Also, I do not have $FG_HOME set here, just FG_ROOT and FG_SCENERY.

I did have a strange fault a few weeks ago here. FG would run on my desktop,
but not on the laptop - both with "identical" set of environment (e.g. PATH
etc.), compiler and library set-ups. It would just crash, reporting an
unhandled exception.

Eventually it turned out to be that the Nvidia utility in the laptop had
mislaid the setting that told FG to use the Nvidia card, and had gone back
to using the Intel video. As we all know Intel video is pretty useless for
FG. The error messages only told me that FG had crashed, without any
specific reason. Running MSVC debugger and the "depends" utility didn“t
provide any helpful information as to the cause of the exception either.

Anyway, best of luck.
