For those subscribed here: I started to compare the FG-maintained apt.dat 810 file against the latest xplane one and converted all airfields in the ED** range to 850 and sent them to Robin. Essentially the airfields that already existed in 850, too were equal or better in quality than ours, so I could essentially just skip them. However, always make sure that you do not encounter naming clashes with airports not having an official ICAO code.
Would be cool to see the remaining fields also checked/submitted so that this problem is off our radars :) Chris ys wrote: > > Hi all > > I would like to start a collaborative wiki or another public page about > the progress of apt.dat update in FlightGear and all its technical > surroundings, and the scenery and tools problems that are probably faced > with this update, but mainly where some development work can be done. > > http://wiki.flightgear.org/Airport_data_(apt.dat)_update > > I will help to editl this page myself of course.
